Dodgeball is easy to understand and the rules are very simple. For instance, players need to protect themselves against direct headshots. Also, players must avoid dead balls. These rules can be enforced if necessary by a referee. A player who is eliminated from the game wins it. This game is usually played in gyms and camps. There are some rules that must be followed in competitive games, but dodgeball is a simple game that can be played in any setting. The process of selecting teams is as simple as choosing a line or as complex as choosing players.
Players need to protect themselves against direct headshots
To prevent a player receiving a headshot directly, they need to take evasive action to stop the shot. A direct headshot is defined as when the ball hits a player in the head directly, without any other contact. The ball must have not touched anything before hitting the head of the player. The ball can also deflect off their bodies or hands before hitting the head. The ball must remain in a straight position when it is hit. Any action that moves the player from this position will automatically negate the headshot.
Dodgeball requires players to protect themselves from headshots. If the ball strikes a player's head and leaves the thrower's hands, it is considered dead. If the player takes a direct headshot while standing upright, the player is safe. However, a player can be hit in their head while standing upright and will be called.
Dead balls
Dead balls are balls not being used in a game. These balls are used to make sure that no player receives multiple hits from the exact same object. A small court with a centerline and two sideslines is used for dodgeball games. The game is primarily self-refereed and governed by honour rules. There are four referees who are stationed at either end of the centerline. The referees will count the number of players who have the ball, as well as confirm hits. Each team begins with one ball. Two balls are placed at the center of the court. Each team has a five-second grace period before releasing a ball.

A dodge ball is considered dead if it crosses the line of the boundary. This means that the player who stepped on the boundary line of the other team is out. To be considered a player, they must keep their ball in the air for ten seconds.
Unsportsmanlike conduct
Dodgeball has very specific rules and all players must adhere to them. Participants must wear either a shirt or shorts with no sharp metal parts. They must also refrain from wearing jewelry during the game. A referee watches over the game to ensure safety and keep it moving. The referee also has the responsibility for ruling on any contested plays. The decisions of the referees cannot be appealed. If a player is found violating the rules they will be warned. Depending on the severity of the violation, the referee can call a technical foul.
Any participant who engages in dangerous throwing behavior will forfeit the game. Players who engage in this behavior will be warned by the referee, and the ball will be turned over to the opposing team. Throws that are high or close to the head of an opponent player are considered dangerous throws. This offense will result in a player being ejected from the match and will prevent him/her from participating in any other games.
Overtime rules
Dodgeball is a sport where players try to catch the ball before it touches anything. Players must stay within the court boundaries, and if a player steps outside of it, they are out of the game. Players can also be kicked out if they touch the ground beyond the center line or attempt to kick the dodgeball. If the game ends in an even draw, overtime can be used to decide the winner.
Each team may only retrieve three (3) balls in their right-hand corner of the center hash. All players must be at their target line before legal throws. Teams have a time limit of three minutes for overtime. The winning team will have the most players.

Neutral zone
The neutral zone in dodgeball refers to the area around the centerline of the court. It is the area that surrounds the centerline of dodgeball. Players are allowed to enter it without being hit or stepped onto, but automatically get out if you cross it. There are many offensive and defense strategies that can be used against an opponent within the neutral area, but players must not be hit or touched.
Two teams of six players play on the court. The property of each team is the ball. The ball with the largest number of balls must be surrendered by the winning team within 10 seconds. Each team has two ball retrievers that can collect off-court balls. Ball retrievers are removed from the court if they interfere with another team's ball or step into the neutral area.
