If you have watched snooker for any length of time, then you will be aware of Joe Perry. British snooker star, Perry spent several seasons at lower levels. But he has also had a couple of seasons in the top reaches of the game. In 2002, he reached the Top 16 for the first time. But he has also spent three seasons below the top 20.

Joe Perry is known as both "the Fen Potter", and "the Gentleman". He is a Cambridgeshire native and became a professional in 1993. He has been a fulltime professional as of 2003. Ken, his older brother, is also a professional.

Perry is a regular presence on the world stage, although he hasn't won a major ranking competition. In 2011, he finished inside the top eight provisional rankings for the first time, and in 2015, he won a minor-ranking event. He competed with Ronnie O'Sullivan in a battle at the Masters.

Perry has been in the finals at both the UK Championship as well as the European Open. He has also been to the quarterfinals of the World Championship. He reached the semi finals of the UK Championship in 2004, but was defeated by David Gray. He was defeated by Stuart Bingham and Judd Trump the following season but lost to Stephen Hendry.


After starting his snooker playing career at twelve, he rose to the top as a professional in the early 90s. He reached the finals of the European Open in 2001. He then went on to win the Welsh Open in late spring of that year. He played in 2014's Wuxi Classic.

He also beat Marco Fu, Matthew Stevens and Jamie Cope in round one of the World Championship and reached the semi-finals at the Masters. He won his second ranking title. He participated in the Xuzhou Open as well as the Welsh Open later that year. He fell to a 14th-place finish at the end.

Despite losing to Graeme Dott and Stephen Hendry, he has managed to secure a place in the top half of the world rankings. He has won the Welsh Open Masters (Welsh Open Masters), and the Xuzhou Open. He has also conducted courses to help others learn the game.

He's tried to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan many times over his career. He won a 9-5 victory in the first round of 2008 UK Championship. He was just one frame away the Masters 2017 Finals, but he lost against Ronnie O'Sullivan.

In the first round, he defeated Mark Selby, the current champion. He won the 2015 Xuzhou Open. He also has several courses and is a BBC guest commentator.
