In the snooker world, century breaks are regarded as the highest skill level. A century break is defined as a period of 25 consecutive balls where the player is able to pot at least 100 points. The maximum break is of 147. However, many players have reported higher break.

Alex Higgins is one of the greatest comeback stories of all time in snooker. He started out as an amateur in Northern Ireland and made his mark on the world of snooker. In the 2021-22 season, there are two players who have broken the century break mark. Daniel Wells, Ding Junhui, and Ding Junhui have each reached the century mark in one match. Both were able to win the World title.


Stephen Hendry is the most successful amateur snooker player of all time. At 15 years old, he won the UK Championship. He was also ranked as the youngest amateur champion. He is now retired after he has collected 36 ranked titles.

Steve Davis was one the greatest snooker players in the 1980s and 1990s. He held the World Championship for fifteen years straight during his prime. Before he retired, he held the number one rank for seven seasons.

Stacey Hillyard has the record for having played the most centuries in a single match. She won five professional tournaments and has the most centuries in a single year, 1994. This includes a match against Kyren Warren that saw her score 114.

Joe Davis, Willie Thorne and Barry Hawkins are some of the other notable names on this list. Lynette Horsburgh and Dennis Taylor are also included. Michael White (Graeme Dott), Jimmy White, Anthony Hamilton and Neil Robertson are some of the snooker experts who have accumulated more 500 breaks in their careers.

These players are not the only ones who have achieved 100 centuries during their snooker career. The above list includes players who have reached 80 years of age or more. Players who are tied for most centuries will be sorted by most centuries during previous seasons.
