pool ball

Unlike most billiard games, pool is a very contested sport. It is popular all over the world. There are many variations of the game in the USA. However, the most popular versions are the eight ball and nine ball pool. Pool matches are often played over multiple games. After a certain number frames, the winner is declared. The winner usually gets 61 points. For different winning numbers, handicaps are possible.

The primary goal of the game are to have all the balls pounded. Each ball pocketed is worth 1 point. Additional balls can be added to your score. A player is considered to win if they have the eight ball in their hand first. A player loses the game if they don't get the eight ball. The eight ball must be pocketed during fouls. Any other balls not pocketed during fouls will be spotted and pocketed. However, the foul does not count towards the points. A player who commits two fouls consecutively is required to be informed before they can play their next shot.

The balls are grouped into three sets: solid balls, striped balls, and object balls. These balls are usually smaller than American-style balls and come in a range of colors, including dark violets for the four and twelve balls. In the past, the object balls were all red, but these days they are usually multi-colored. They can also be made from fibreglass, carbon fibre, wood and other materials. Most common diameters for balls are 2+1/16 in, 2 in, and 3 in.

The object of the game is to pocket the black eight ball. To do this, the ball must be pocketed by the player. However, it is important that all pockets are properly spotted so that they can be placed on the foot rail. The eight balls are placed back on to the table. After that, the player who has the eight ball can decide if he wants it to end or continue.

The player can take a ball and pocket it without fouling. He or she must place the ball in the exact spot at the foot of the player calling the shot. Fouls committed during the shot will result in the loss of all other balls. A foul does not count towards points. However, a player will be awarded a free shot. This shot can be taken with any ball.
